Complete timing for your event.
From the entry list to the award ceremony: DST Competition records every pass at any number of light barriers, assigns them to start numbers and calculates the results – completely offline at the course if you wish. Data import and export in Excel format are standard in all versions.

Live monitor
Every special stage and its light barriers at a glance: incoming passes, measured times, deviations and the order of start numbers – in real time.
Participants
Start number, driver and co-driver, vehicle with year of manufacture, registration, class and team – all maintained in one place and quickly searchable.
Raw data & telemetry
Every time stamp remains traceable: with satellite reception, radio quality, battery level and light barrier position. Corrections can be made directly in the software.
Results
Results per special stage or overall, filtered by class, sorted by ranking – with the gap to the car ahead and export for notice boards and award ceremonies.
Team ranking
Teams are ranked automatically from the individual results – ideal for club and brand classifications.
Common time base
The light barriers receive satellite signals and therefore work on a common time base – synchronised with the precision of the GPS PPS signal (typically better than 0.1 µs; time capture with 1 µs resolution), even over long distances and without any cables.
Offline at the course
The software also works without internet. If required – and only with your consent – results can be stored and synchronised in the cloud.
Traceable
Raw data and telemetry of every pass are stored – for fair, transparent results if questions arise.
We will find the right model for your event.
Are you interested in a rental or licence model for DST Competition and the light barriers? Or would you like to hand over the timing of your event to us entirely – with setup, timing and results by our team? Feel free to get in touch.
Built tough for the outdoors.
Our DST components come in signal colours so they stand out at the course immediately. Everything fits into a lockable case – the tripods travel in their own bag.

Light barrier module
Timing module with its own GPS-synchronised clock: captures the time right at the timing point. Alignment mode with beep, OLED display, battery with USB-C.

Central module
Receives the times from up to 6 timing modules by radio (max. 150 m radius), confirms each one individually and forwards them via Bluetooth to the app or tablet.

Emitter
Counterpart to the light barrier on the other side of the track. Instead of using a reflector, the emitter sends the light beam itself – for passage widths of up to 20 m.

Pressure hose module
Timing module with the same time capture – triggered by a hose laid across the course.
Everything in one case
Scope of delivery: 2 light barriers incl. emitters, central module and double batteries – stowed safely in an aluminium case with foam insert.
Tripods & flags
Stainless steel tripods and marker flags in a robust carry bag.
Technical data
| Time base | GNSS/PPS-synchronised clock in every timing module |
|---|---|
| Time resolution | 1 µs, hardware capture * |
| Light barrier | Distance to emitter max. 20 m |
| Radio range | max. 150 m radius around the central module, i.e. max. 300 m diameter |
| Timing modules | max. 6 per central module (light barrier and pressure hose modules) |
| Radio | WiFi to the central module (channels 1–13), Bluetooth Low Energy to app or tablet |
| Transmission | acknowledged, with retries; buffer for 5 times (timing module) and 64 (central module) |
| Parallel operation | Group ID 1–255 separates several systems at the same location |
| Interference filter | Minimum trigger duration 0–5000 ms, lockout after triggering 0–10000 ms |
| Operation | OLED display, rotary switch, beep |
| Power supply | Battery, charging via USB-C |
* Resolution of the digital capture. The achievable accuracy of the overall system depends on GPS reception, light barrier and setup, among other things. Timing modules need a clear view of the sky.
